Website Portfolio

Process, Branding,Prototype

For this design portfolio, the main problem I faced was being able to showcase my work and knowledge in UX design with little experience. Through school and freelancing opportunities, I have multiple projects that I have completed. I am looking for a way to showcase work and provide a proper breakdown of our design process. My hypothesis is through a website builder, we will create a blog-style interface, that allows users to navigate from multiple sections like “About”, “Projects”, and “Contact”

My specific role in this project was designer/developer. I worked with Millennium Marketing, a social media marketing agency that assisted in the process of figure out my brand identify and color coordination. To the left, you will see three images. The first image is my logo which I created in Photoshop. The second image is the color gradient, used for the background of the homepage. Finally, the final image is my color palette from Adobe. The reason, I decided on this scheme was to emphasize "connection" and building a connection with the website visitor. Earth tones are considered to be friendly and inviting, so I aim to give users a feeling of familarity while looking through my work.

During this project, I used many techniques I learned from my previous graduate courses. From building wireframes and prototypes, I was able to then create a mockup for my website and finally turned it into this live product. To the left, you can see the wireframe and prototype built with a pencil and axure. The first image is my hand-drawn wireframe, I then scan this image in to Axure and basically traced it creating the second image. Finally, with this live frame, I create my final prototype on Axure and used it as an template for my site.

The challenge I faced while creating this website was finding an image/ brand for myself. Also creating different designs for my site that would better represent who I aas a designer/researcher.Also, displaying the work I have done even though I am still new to the industry. Essentially turning my work in school and freelance into case studies for others to follow along the thought process

This project has the potential to affect the way users review my design process and gives them the opportunity to judge whether or not the skillset is right for their company. Before I applied for opportunities without a portfolio, leaving the recruiter no chance to truly connect with me but now I want to register the number of callbacks, I received and eventually increase the number of projects in my portfolio.
